MUSIC LIVE - TITANS OF TRIBUTE - WIN TICKETS
Published on July 31st, 2009
Held at the NEC every year, Music Live is the biggest and best music making event in the UK. The crowds throng to see a fantastic showing of the latest and greatest guitars, drums, synths, amplifiers, recording gear and software from the world's best-known brands. And the involvement of retail partners means Music Live is the perfect place for visitors to expand their equipment arsenal at special show-only deals. Music Live also plays host to some of the biggest names in the music industry each year, so as well as picking up some new gear, event goers will have the chance to meet, mingle with and learn some new riffs, licks and fills from their heroes, as well as seeing some of them perform live!
This year, the event organisers decided to do something special to commemorate their 10th anniversary. As metal (specifically tin or aluminium, for those that are interested) is the traditional material used for gifts to mark such an occasion, they decided to go down this route and thought what better way to celebrate than to recreate the best Metal line up of all time - Donington '88 using the UK’s premier tribute bands? So on Sunday November 8th, the live stage will be turned over to the Titans Of Tribute.
When the show manager contacted us to headline the Titans Of Tribute show, we were over the moon. Recreating Donington ’88 is something that we have been thinking about doing for a long time now, so to have the UK’s largest music retail event do all the groundwork and make it all happen is fantastic. The fact that it is being held at the NEC, makes the prospect even more exciting!
Music Live show manager Jason Hunt said, “We’re very pleased to have been able to pull the ‘Titans…’ line-up together for this year’s show – it’ll be a lot of fun. While much of Music Live is about creating original music, many of our visitors are in bands who pay tribute to their heroes in their sets. The Titans Of Tribute will show all of us how it’s done properly – and doubtless inspire the audience to nail the riffs to Welcome To The Jungle, Aces High or Detroit Rock City when they get home…”
The biggest problem in putting together the complete line up was the lack of a Helloween tribute, so we got our heads together and decided to learn a few numbers and fill that position too. Look out for us in new wigs and stage clothes, opening the show as ‘Hulloween’. We have also heard a little rumour that Markus Grosskopf, (Helloween's bass player), will be flying over to see the show! We had better get practicing!...
